🏆 Capra Cymru Wins a Great Taste Award 2026 for its Soft Goat's Cheese

Our very first competition entry... and we've come away with a Great Taste Award.

We are incredibly proud to announce that our Soft Goat's Cheese has been awarded 1 Star at the Great Taste Awards 2026.

Judged by the Guild of Fine Food's expert panel, our cheese has been recognised in the world's most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme.

Based in Carmarthenshire, West Wales, Capra Cymru has been named among the top food and drink producers globally this year, picking up a highly prized 1 Star Great Taste Award for our Soft Goat's Cheese.

Over 15,000 products were put through the competition's rigorous blind judging process, and our Soft Goat's Cheese was awarded a coveted 1 Star. 4,286 products were awarded a Great Taste 1 Star – 'simply delicious', 1,596 products received 2 Stars – 'outstanding', and just 306 products achieved 3 Stars – 'exquisite'.

Made using pasteurised milk from our own welfare-led herd of goats, our Soft Goat's Cheese was one of 6,188 products to receive a Great Taste Award in 2026, meaning only 41.15% of all entries received an award.

"We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded a Great Taste 1 Star for our Soft Goat's Cheese, especially as this was our very first competition entry.

We started Capra Cymru with a simple vision: to produce exceptional artisan goat's cheese from the milk of our own happy, healthy goats here in West Wales. Every batch is made by hand on our farm, and to have that recognised by the Great Taste judges is an incredible achievement for our small family business.

We'd like to thank everyone who has supported us on this journey by buying our cheese, visiting us at markets, stocking our products or simply following our story. This award gives us even more motivation to continue producing the very best cheese we possibly can."

Great Taste, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, is recognised as the world's largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme.

Every product is judged completely blind by panels of food experts. Packaging and branding are removed, ensuring every award is based solely on taste and quality.

Award-Winning Goat's Cheese from West Wales

Every tub of our award-winning Soft Goat's Cheese starts with milk from our own herd of goats here in Carmarthenshire.

Our goats are farmed using a welfare-led approach, allowing them to live naturally while producing exceptional-quality milk. That milk is then carefully transformed into handcrafted artisan cheese in small batches on our farm.

Receiving a Great Taste Award is an incredible milestone in our journey and gives us even more determination to keep producing the highest quality goat's cheese possible.
